DURAFON 1X INSTALLATION

Cordless Telephone
Engenius DuraFon
1X long range cordless telephone will enable the storage
manager to receive/make calls using the main telephone line
anywhere on the property.
Installed with the 6 dbi high gain antenna, the
DuraFon 1X will have reception in the largest of sites and
multiple level facilities. The position of the antenna is
determined by visibility by the customer, limiting
exposed antenna cable and providing proper range.
Lightning and surge protection will ensure maximum
reliability for the
DuraFon 1X.
MJM will
ensure reception throughout the property.
If we can not provide clear reception then the owner
has the right to refuse installation without exception or
cost.
The Engenius has a built-in intercom system between the base
and the handset.
This allows communication between two managers when
one is out of the office eliminating the need for additional
radios or cell phones.
The Engenius base is installed in the office area to
provide the manager access to the built-in intercom and to
facilitate troubleshooting.
The base sometimes is mounted in the break room or in
‘earshot’ of the office for aesthetic or installation
reasons.
Viking Callbox
The
Viking e-10 with 5x5 box mounted in the middle of a
custom designed sign will provide your customers a
communication link to the manager or call center.
We position the telephone in the middle of the sign
to increase customer visibility. The standard sign is 18”h x
12”w but smaller signs are custom designed to meet
installation requirements.
There is a cut-out in the middle of the sign to
facilitate both installation, telephone repairs and sign
replacements.
The callbox or handset is mounted as close as possible to
the front door to maximize use.
Window frame mounting options are available.
The 250 Dialer
The 250 dialer links the callbox and the Engenius together
and provides functionality specifically designed for the
self storage application.
The dialer provides the distinct ring tones, intercom
function, call forwarding and remote programming.
Distinct Ring Tone
– The Engenius DuraFon 1X long range cordless telephone will
receive calls on the main line, the callbox/handset or
Engenius base.
The calls from the callbox or handset are identified by a
distinct ring tone (two short rings) on the Engenius
handset. This
will enable the managers to identify a customer at the front
door by ring tone (no caller-ID is required).
All other outside line calls to the office are
received on the Engenius telephone as one solid ring tone.
Intercom
– All calls from the callbox or
handset go directly to the Engenius handset as an intercom
call. No
telephone line is used.
If there is a problem with the outside telephone then
it will never interfere with the telephone line.
Call Forwarding
– If a call is placed at the callbox/handset and the
Engenius telephone is not answered then the call is
automatically forwarded to the call center using the main
line. The 250
dialer can be programmed with up to 5 different numbers to
dial.
Call Forwarding Ring Count
- The number of rings until forwarding is usually set to
four but can be set longer.
After Hours Cordless Bypass
- The manager has the ability to press “****” to forward the
calls directly to the call center from the callbox/handset.
This will minimize the wait time when the calls are
being forwarded to the call center after hours.
Pressing “####” will then forward the calls to the
DuraFon 1X .
Dedicated routing number
- MJM recommends a specific number be dedicated for the call
boxes to dial.
This enables the call center operators to immediately
identify the caller as one calling from outside the office.
Talk Time
– The callbox and dialer have a preset talk time of 5
minutes. After
this time the callbox/dialer will end the call.
This prevents tying up the telephone line for false
calls. Talk
time can be programmed in one-minute intervals up to nine
minutes. After that, the talk time can be unlimited.
Remote Programming
– All of the features of the dialer can be programmed
remotely using a touch tone phone including the number that
the call box dials.
Window Sign
A custom hanging window sign is included with each
installation.
The sign will inform the customer that a courtesy
callbox/handset is available.
An arrow on the sign points to the location of the
callbox/handset.
All-Inclusive Warranty
MJM offers an inclusive extended warranty for our courtesy
telephones and the
Engenius DuraFon 1X long range cordless.
Simply, we will repair or replace the telephones,
regardless of damage.
Site managers can call the 800 service number and
receive immediate help. Service calls for the callbox,
dialer or armor corded handset will be dispatched to a
service tech.
Calls regarding the Engenius can be reset or fixed over the
telephone with the manager’s assistance.
If not, a replacement Engenius system will be mailed
to the site. As
long as the defective Engenius system is mailed back to MJM
then no additional charge will be incurred.
Repairs covered under this warranty include equipment
malfunction, user damage and Acts of God.
Replacement handset antennas and belt clips are
included in this agreement.
The only exception: wiring and/or equipment
modifications by others (i.e.) during a remodel or manager
replacement.
Installation Cost
The installation cost for the call center courtesy telephone
application is $1,995.
The all-inclusive warranty is $245 for the first
year. The
warranty can be prepaid for up to 3 years.
Any single order
of multiple facilities will receive a discount based on
location and number.

corded handset with 3-sided hood mounted in the middle of a
custom designed sign will provide your customers a

MJM has two patented surface mounting bases to hid
and protect wiring.
The standard 4x4x1/2 and the clam shell design used
in window mounts ensure reliability.
